Azim Khan was probably a general in the Mughal emperor Akbar’s court in the 16th century. Legend has it that he gave up war and took to religion in his later years. This magnificent structure is located on top of a high rock overlooking the intersection of the Mehrauli- Badarpur and Mehrauli- Gurgaon roads. Other graves in the vicinity are said to be those of Azim Khan’s wife and daughter. It is not easily accessible, which is why it gets only a handful of visitors even though thousands of vehicles pass it every day
