Humayun Gate (16th century) is attributed partly to Sher Shah Sur, on the basis of a fading inscription in ink that was found in one of the rooms in the upper storey. There are two entrances, one on top of the other. The lower one opened at the level of the water in the moat and the upper one would have been approached by a drawbridge of causeway across the moat.
