Satpula, or a bridge with seven openings (sat i.e. seven, pul i.e. bridge) was constructed during the reign of Muhammad Shah Tughlaq (1325- 1351) as an integral component of the defence wall of the city of Delhi. To best appreciate this monument, view it from the ‘bridge’ at the far end of the park which now houses it
